The Neopost IS-5000/6000 postage meter wins the IF Product Design Award

Neopost breaks new ground with the IS series, a new high-volume mailing system that maximizes throughput by improving workflow, reliability and ergonomics

The Neopost IS-5000/6000, the new choice in high-volume mailing

Neopost, world leader in mailing and logistics solutions, launches the IS-5000 and IS-6000, a new range of modular digital postage meters that protect your investments by improving productivity and reducing costs.

The IS-5000/6000 high-volume mailing systems are 20% more productive than other mailing systems on the market. These new franking systems can process up to 18,000 envelopes an hour.  The dynamic scale allows mail of various sizes, weight and dimensions to be processed at a rate 10,800 envelopes an hour.

The new IS series sets itself apart through its ergonomic design. The touch screen is close to the feeder so requiring fewer operator movements and making loading and unloading operations more fluid. The postage machine’s user-friendly touch screen is easy to read and displays large buttons and clear prompts. All basic mailing operations are clearly displayed and constantly at your fingertips. The colour touch screen can tilt backwards and forwards and swivel left and right, so ensuring the most comfortable work position for operators.

The newly designed user interface is incredibly fast and intuitive and includes a rate wizard.

The IS-5000 and IS-6000 have a toggle feature through which users can connect to the Internet and access all MyNeopost services.

The IS-5000/6000 has a mixed mail high-capacity envelope feeder with reload on the fly capability and a stacking capacity of more than 7” - the highest capacity known in the industry to date- and a high power conveyor stacker to match (up to 300 envelopes).

The new IS series also include a new ink and printing technology which uses print heads that are designed to last the life of the machine freeing up time for operators to focus on mail handling. They also have superior sealing capabilities with a patented spray technology which ensures a quality tip-to-tip envelope seal. The water tank holds enough fluid for up to 35,000 envelopes.

The IS-5000/6000 is a durable and reliable workhorse. With an overall weight of just over 220 lbs, the IS-5000 and IS-6000 machines are always ready to take up a challenge. These systems are durable, productive and resistant; a perfect match for large-volume mail processing centres.

With the IS series mailing systems, you'll protect your investment and control your costs:

  • The system's ergonomics greatly reduces the time it takes to train machine operators.
  • The permanent print heads are designed to last the life of the postage machine.
  • The modular design allows you to invest according to your needs. You can easily add more modules as and when your needs change.

The IS-6000 receives the IF Product Design Award

Founded in 1953 and based in Hanover, International Forum Design is a world famous organisation, that annually rewards the most innovative product designs. Having previously received an award in the Document System category, Neopost presented its IS-6000 high-volume franking machine last August. Yann Le Rigoleur, Group Design Coordinator, explained that the IS-6000 was conceived with users in mind. This is evident from the colour touch screen, which is able to move in all directions, an intuitive man-machine interface and the improved ergonomics of the work-station. The screen is close to the feeder so reducing the number of movements made by the operator and creating more fluidity both for loading and unloading operations. For all these reasons the IF Design panel of judges, made up of 44 international experts, decided to award Neopost a “Product Design Award” in the category “Office & Business”. The IS-6000 was selected from more than 2,900 products!
In this context, in 2012 the IS-6000 will be on display in the hall reserved for IF Design products as well as the CeBIT Exhibition, and will subsequently be on display at the tradeshow in Hamburg.
